Whit's End - A Cozy Rural Retreat on Creek with Pool and Dock.

Located on the eastern shore of the Chesapeake Bay off the Choptank River in Cambridge, Maryland, this cozy three bedroom, two bath 1955 home is tucked away in a semi-rural setting on Jenkins Creek. Named after a previous owner Mr. Whitney, Whit's End offers vacationers a chance to kick back and enjoy the Chesapeake Bay experience.

Explore the network of waterways by bicycle or kayak at the nearby Blackwater Reserve where waterfowl abound. Don't forget to take your binoculars to view the bald eagle, blue heron, osprey and other waterfowl. Voyage back in time aboard the skipjack Nathan of Dorcester and learn about the age of working sail.

Or simply cool off in our in ground pool or try crabbing from our private dock, sipping a cool drink by the goldfish pond, or reading a good book in a hammock under the trees. Included too is a game room with ping pong table, wireless internet, cable TV in the bedrooms and living room, new energy saving washer and dryer, a book-lined den, charcoal barbeque, picnic table, screened porch, central air conditioning and wood burning fireplace.

This is an annual calendar of events taking place on and around the Chesapeake Bay that are water related or related to the Bay's cultural, ecological, or maritime culture.  The calendar includes a wide variety of events including festivals, boat races, boat shows, fishing tournaments, exhibitions, seminars and workshops.

October 4 & 5 --  Annual Blessing of the Fleet.  St. Clements Island Museum.  Saturday 11:00am to dark.  Sunday 10:00am to 4:00pm.  Entertainment, boat rides, food, games, and fireworks.  More InformationSt. Mary's County, MD.

Oct 4.  Day Cruise on the Liberty Ship John W. Brown.  Voyage into history on the John W. Brown.  Featuring music of the 40's by a live big band.  Reenactors demonstrate equipments and vehicles.  Airshow with flybys of WWII aircraft, continental breakfast and all-you-can-eat lunch buffet.  Tour the ship including engine room, museums, cargo holds, crew's quarters, and bridge.  Cruise profits maintain this Liberty Ship Memorial.  Departs from Baltimore, MDMore Information.

October 4 -- Mid Atlantic Small Craft Festival. One of the nation's premier small craft events. Hundreds of amateur and professional builders and enthusiasts bring their skiffs, kayaks, and canoes. October 15 - 18 -- Great Chesapeake Bay Schooner Race.  Annual sailing race from Baltimore to Portsmouth to benefit the Chesapeake Bay Foundation and the Elizabeth River Project.
